Job Summary
To support the Fraud & Vigilance function in fraud prevention, detection, investigation support, and vigilance activities through inspections, documentation, and coordination with internal stakeholders, while ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
Roles & Responsibilities
Fraud Prevention & Monitoring
- Assist in Fraud Risk Assessments (FRAs) across retail assets, liabilities, and other banking products
- Review of existing processes and SOPs to identify fraud vulnerabilities and control gaps
- Track fraud trends and modus operandi and escalate observations to seniors
- Support implementation of preventive controls to reduce fraud and policy violations
- Provide support in building Fraud prevention training programs in the organization
Inspections & Vigilance Activities
- Support regular inspections and checks of business units and branches
- Identify instances of improper practices, procedural deviations, or potential leakages
- Assist in CCTV monitoring and vigilance reviews, as applicable
- Support periodic SOP compliance checks
Investigation Support
- Assist the team in fraud and vigilance investigations by collecting data, documents, and evidence
- Ensure confidentiality while handling sensitive and security‑related information
- Maintain investigation records and assist in drafting narrative reports with supporting evidence
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Perform basic data analysis to identify unusual patterns, exceptions, or red flags
- Maintain fraud repositories, trackers, and MIS dashboards.
- Preparation of summary report for management decision
- Track action items and ensure closure of observations within defined TATs
Coordination & Stakeholder Support
- Support compliance with RBI / regulatory guidelines relevant to fraud risk and vigilance
- Coordinate with internal teams for information and closure of observations
- Assist in follow‑up of corrective and preventive actions
Compliance & Regulatory Awareness
- Assist in ensuring activities align with internal policies and regulatory guidelines
- Stay updated on basic RBI and regulatory norms relevant to fraud prevention and vigilance
- Escalate any identified non‑compliance or concerns to senior team members
Key Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of fraud risk, vigilance, and internal controls
- Ability to analyze data and identify exceptions or irregular patterns
- Documentation and report‑writing skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong ethical orientation and integrity
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with cross‑functional teams
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Qualification: Graduate / Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Risk, Law or related field.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in Fraud Risk, Vigilance, Internal Audit, Risk, or Compliance preferably in BFSI sector
- Certifications (Good to Have): CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) or risk / audit / compliance certification will be an added advantage
